What next?

So with Henley done, it’s time for me to think about what I should do next. To be honest for most sad activist like myself, the summer months are a bit of a quite time, of course there is always the odd bit of delivering to be done, and you can always find a local by-election to get involved in if you really want to, but for me it’s time to think what I should do next now that being a PPC in South East Cornwall has gone.
Now you may not know, but I really wanted the chance to fight this seat and losing the Hustings was difficult to take, I was asked recently how I’ve been since then, I explained that it has been like walking through treacle, I don’t seem to be able to get past it, I feel, well…… lost.
So now it’s time to move on, Karen (who won) has no doubt picked her team and I need to let South East Cornwall go and look elsewhere to effect change in politics.
I could of course start a campaign to get on to the working peers list (open I think this winter) – Rachel’s keen on this!
Or I could hunt for another seat- but to be honest that’s unlikely, we don’t have many very winnable seats and they all went ages ago.
I could hope for a by-election (if Nick lets us fight it!) and try for that, but that might not happen and could be anywhere.
Maybe I should give up trying to get elected and look for a backstage role.Or of course I could just walk away and get myself a proper job.

Hmmmm……. Which one……….. Hang on, isn’t Lembit planning to stand for the President this Autumn?

Wonder if I could get involved in that?

Now where did I put his number……….
